How long until a DUI goes off your driving record, for insurance purposes?

My husband got one in 05 in Washington State. I heard it was three years and then you don’t have to disclose the DUI to an insurance company. I will be policy shopping soon and I don’t want my rates any higher than necessary.

DEPENDS ON THE STATE. I BELIEVE WASHINGTON IS 7 YEARS? IF I WERE TO RUN A CALIFORNIA MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT ON YOUR HUSBAND, IT WOULD STILL SHOW UP FOR 10 YEARS. YOU SHOULD CALL YOUR LOCAL DMV TO FIND OUT FOR SURE…

In Washington State the DUI will remain on his official driving record for 15 years from the conviction date.
Now from an insurance stand point: they will run your record and if you do not disclose that he had a DUI in 2005, they will be able to see it anyway. It is TYPICALLY 3 years AFTER THE LICENSE WAS REINSTATED not after the conviction!
