Flat-tire tracks lead to DUI, hit-and-run suspect’s arrest
MOULTON — The tracks of a flat tire led authorities to the suspect in a hit-and-run wreck Wednesday evening. Moulton Police Chief Lyndon McWhorter said Luther Shane Harville’s pickup, traveling north, sideswiped another pickup, traveling south, on Market Street at 6:03 p.m.

Drunken drivers will be targeted Saturday night at a DUI checkpoint in Redlands, police warn. “Our message is simple: If we catch you drunk, you will be arrested,” Sgt. Ricky Smith said in a written statement. The roadblock is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. Saturday through 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lane of Alabama Street, between Park and Orange Avenues.

Chargers Pro Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson pleaded guilty to a DUI charge and was sentenced to four days in jail and five years of probation. Because it was his second DUI conviction, Jackson also will be subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy and likely will face at least a one-game suspension next season.
